The Cafeteria of the Tobacco Factory of Maia

The building where the factory cafeteria is located was built in 1956 by order of the governmental organism charged with superintending matters related to working conditions, the Work Inspection Board. The building comprises a central room for meals, the cafeteria properly, and two other rooms where workers used to change their clothes. The factory workers were allowed to use the cafeteria for eating home-made meals. The area includes a lavatory zone where the workers could wash their hands.
